The Green Marble

Founded in 1884 in Rome, BVLGARI has always been at the forefront of luxury watchmaking. The Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Marble is no exception, featuring an exquisite green marble that reflects Italy’s cultural and architectural prowess. Unlike the quartz watches with alpine granite cases produced by Swiss brand Tissot from 1985 to 1992, BVLGARI’s creation stands out with its unique green marble hue, using the material in an exceptionally thin layer.

The green marble, known as Verde Alpi, originates from the Aosta Valley, nestled between Switzerland and Italy. BVLGARI chose this material for its aesthetic properties, adorning the watch’s case, dial, and bracelet with it. This choice not only pays homage to Italy’s architectural beauty but also adds a unique character to the watch, making it a marvel of craftsmanship.

A Nod to Roman Pantheon

The Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Marble’s design is inspired by the Roman Pantheon, featuring an octagonal case made from titanium and enhanced with a complex tourbillon mechanism. The case, coated with a special DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating, alongside the meticulously crafted marble inlay, showcases BVLGARI’s attention to detail and commitment to luxury.

The bracelet’s construction, requiring over 190 hours of work, and the dial’s marble slab at 0.6 mm thickness, highlight the artisanal expertise BVLGARI brings to each piece. This intricate work results in a watch that seems carved from a single block of marble, a testament to the brand’s craftsmanship.

This manual winding mechanism, boasting a 52-hour power reserve, is a marvel of engineering, combining the elegance of design with the sophistication of mechanical innovation.
